Blackhawks forward Andrew Mangiapane out at least two games with lower-body injury

Mangiapane left the season opener at Vegas early in the second period and will miss the rest of the opening road trip, CBS Sports reported, citing The Athletic's Mark Lazerus. The next possible return is the home opener against St. Louis. The Blackhawks visit Utah on Thursday and Buffalo on Saturday.

Chicago's opening roster has 13 forwards, eight defensemen and goaltenders Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom, per the club. Connor Bedard has an upper-body injury and starts on the injured/non-roster list; defenseman Ryan Ellis is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury. Chicago Hockey Now reports Del Mastro won the final spot over forward Landon Slaggert, who cleared waivers and went to Rockford. Chicago opens tonight at Vegas.
