Maple Leafs acquire Kirill Marchenko in six-player trade, sign him to six-year, $75 million deal

Toronto acquired forwards Kirill Marchenko and Miles Wood and goaltender Elvis Merzlikins from Columbus for forwards Matthew Knies and Steven Lorentz, defenseman Emil Andrae and a 2027 second-round pick, NHL.com reports. Marchenko, 26, signed a six-year, $75 million contract, a $12.5 million average annual value beginning this season. He had 27 goals and 67 points in 76 games last season. Toronto opens tonight at home against Montreal at 7 p.m. ET.
