Penguins finalize 22-man roster with six newcomers and five players on injured reserve

Pittsburgh's roster has 13 forwards, seven defensemen and goaltenders Sergei Murashov and Arturs Silovs, per the club. Six newcomers made it: Gustafsson, Lapierre, Robertson, Carlile, Korczak and van Riemsdyk. Brazeau, Kindel, Lizotte, Rust and Graves are on injured reserve. The Penguins open at Philadelphia on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

NHL.com's status report says Bryan Rust left Saturday's preseason game against Buffalo with an upper-body injury and is being evaluated. Ryan Graves is out indefinitely with problems in both knees, and Blake Lizotte is day-to-day. Heavy.com reports Justin Brazeau and Ben Kindel have lower-body injuries and are week-to-week. Coach Dan Muse said, "'Rusty' is obviously a huge part of our group."
