Texas finished one game back of Houston, missing the playoffs for a third straight season since its 2023 World Series title.

The president of baseball operations said Texas needs to get younger and more athletic and pointed to a poor road record as a factor in losing the division.

All three are expected to hit free agency as part of the roster turnover the front office has signaled for the winter.

Michael Helman was activated from the 60-day IL and Peyton Gray from the 15-day IL to fill the roster spots; Adam Macko was optioned to the minors.

Kodai Senga closed out a 6-3 Mets win at Globe Life Field, with Francisco Alvarez's 2-run double the key blow; Josh Jung and Wyatt Langford each drove in a run for Texas. Separately, Rangers top prospect and MLB's No. 9 overall prospect Sebastian Walcott was promoted to Triple-A Round Rock after Double-A Frisco's playoff elimination and reached base three times in his first two Triple-A games; Round Rock finished its season 73-77.
